FROM GREEN SPACES TO THE "BREATH" OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD
We do more than just manage land; we act as guardians of green spaces. GC ESTATE has consistently maintained and preserved forest areas to serve as a source of fresh air for the people of Rayong. In 2023, we took a significant step forward by launching the "Forestry Carbon Credit Project" covering over 84 rai. This project has been certified under the T-VER (Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program) standard by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
CARBON CREDITS : TRANSFORMING GREEN ASSETS INTO CARBON CREDITS
We transform environmental responsibility into tangible value through our forestry carbon credit project, which is the heart of our environmental strategy:
Systematic Restoration: The 84-rai forest area of GC ESTATE is not merely left to nature. We implement systematic management according to T-VER standards, overseen by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
Proven Results: Our forest has the potential to sequester greenhouse gases up to 3,200 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tonCO2eq), acting as a massive natural air purifier providing clean air to Rayong Province and nearby areas.
Circular Economy: The carbon credits we receive are integrated into the carbon trading market. The revenue generated is reinvested into the maintenance of our green spaces, creating a self-sustaining cycle of conservation.
CONTINUITY AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING
Our commitment does not end with our own projects. GC ESTATE is dedicated to becoming a “Sustainability Learning Hub” through a clear roadmap:
Public Site Visits: We welcome government agencies, the private sector, and the general public on the 15th of every month (from January to May) to exchange knowledge on forestry carbon credit certification. (Note: The area is currently under renovation and will not be open for visits in 2026).
Driving National Policy: We have been honored to share insights and exchange views with the Committee on Natural Resources and Environment to help push forward Thailand’s policies on reforestation and carbon credit trading.
Scaling Up within GC Group: We pass on our expertise to employees across the GC Group to collectively strive toward corporate Carbon Neutrality sustainably.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & COMMUNITY RELATIONS
At GC Estate, we adhere to the business philosophy that "a business can grow steadily only when it moves forward together with a strong community." Therefore, we prioritize building good relationships and mutual understanding with the communities surrounding our operating areas in Rayong province, focusing on improving the Quality of Life and ensuring environmental sustainability.
Supporting Community Enterprises: GC Estate chooses to use products from community enterprise groups in Rayong province, such as purchasing snack boxes for seminars or selecting souvenirs produced by locals, to help create jobs and generate income directly for the villagers. Local Catering Service: When organizing meetings or various activities, we prioritize employment and select catering services from local entrepreneurs to keep money circulating within the surrounding communities.
Preserving Local Traditions: We support and participate in various traditional events, such as the Tod Kathin ceremony and religious activities in temples and communities around the area, to preserve the beautiful culture of the Rayong people. Volunteer and Public Health Activities: We collaborate with the PTT Group and the GC network to organize community service units, support medical equipment, and provide prompt relief assistance during various emergency situations.
Listening to Feedback: We organize Community Visits to communicate the company's operational information while listening to suggestions and concerns, enabling us to improve our work and live together happily. Building Environmental Confidence: We provide opportunities for community representatives to participate in inspecting or acknowledging the project's environmental measures to build confidence in our safe management standards.
